Period pain is medically known as dysmenorrhea. It is one of the common problems faced by many women. It can occur due to several reasons and they are divided into two types i.e. spasmodic and congestive pain. Although many women get worried about it and think it’s not normal, experts advise that it’s absolutely normal. Period pain happens in about 70-80% of women. Myth: Period pain is a bad thing.

Fact: Period pain does not specify that there is a hidden problem. Actually, during the period smooth to medium pain is a good sign. You will be surprised to know that period pain is an indication of a healthy uterus and ovaries.

Myth: You can’t consume sour and cold foods should during periods.

Fact: There is no accurate reason behind why you should not consume sour foods during periods. Sour foods are filled with lots of Vitamin C, which helps in boosting immunity. You can even eat cold foods but in a balanced way. Only you can’t consume oily and spicy foods as they can cause gastric issues.

Myth: You cannot get pregnant during your periods.

Fact: During periods it’s possible to get pregnant. When you have regular periods, it is less likely for you to conceive. You need to ovulate or release an egg in order to get pregnant which usually happens after your period gets over. If you have irregular periods that time when you are fertile may overlap with your period. You can also get pregnant during periods if you bleed longer than usual.
