Ralphie’s home in the 1983 film A Christmas Story has been put up for sale on Sunday morning via Facebook. Located in Cleveland, Ohio, it is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks, thanks to the popularity of A Christmas Story.

After the listing was made public on the museum and landmark’s Facebook page, many were left wondering what the future holds for this iconic location.

“The House, built in 1895, was purchased on eBay in December 2004 and required a massive renovation to restore it to its original movie splendor. The House started public tours on November 25th, 2006, and since has welcomed over a million guests and counting,” the listing on Facebook said.

The listing also says that there’s more on sale than just the house. There’s apparently a whole campus, a gift shop, the museum, Bumpus’ (one of the characters in the film) house, and a parking lot. The listing did not mention any asking price, however, said that they expecting a “high level of interest” and “significant” offers from interested parties.

The house will be sold by local property dealers, Chad Whitmer with Hoff & Leigh Commercial Real Estate. “It’s just the right time. They’ve done a lot of work here. They’ve turned this into something special,” the real estate group said while explaining why the house is going up for sale now.

” It’s a family that owns it and they’re just looking for new opportunities to move on and they’re hoping somebody comes along takes this, creates it, and turns it into something even more special, and makes it an even greater destination for people visiting Cleveland,” they added.

Interestingly, the decision to sell the house comes at a time when HBO Max is set to release a sequel to A Christmas Story.
