Whether you are a foodie or not, Biryani always manages to find a special spot in your hearts. Biryani is love, alright. But how much are you willing to pay for a plate of Biryani? At Dubai’s Bombay Borough, it’s simple. You love a plate of Biryani, you get a plate of Biryani. But there this a catch, it will cost you a whopping Rs. 20,000, for a plate of gold-plated Biryani.

Famously known as the Royal Gold Biryani, the dish costs 1,000 dirhams per plate, which roughly translates to Rs 19,705.85. The dish is coated with a 23-carat gold leaf.

Located in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), the restaurant has a colonial British bungalow feel to it.

But what makes the plate expensive?

One plate of biryani has 3 kg worth of rice and meat. The dish has an assortment of curries and meats (lamb chops, meatballs, grilled chicken among others). The plate also comes in three types of rice – chicken biryani rice, keema rice and white and saffron rice.

According to reports, the platter will also be serving caramelised vegetables. And to top it off, the dish is wrapped in gold leaf before being served.

As per a Network18 report, Bombay Borough opened in February and has created a niche for itself with its special 1,000 Dirham Biryani.
