Rollercoasters are meant to leave riders reeling from the
speed and the ups and downs. But this rollercoaster in Carowinds amusement
park in North Carolina, left riders hanging in mid-air and scared for their
lives. The rollercoaster came to an abrupt halt in the middle of the
ride and the breakdown prolonged for over 45 excruciating minutes,
leaving riders dangling upside down.
Riders were enjoying the rollercoaster, called the
Flying Cobra, a ride that carries passengers around a 360-degree circuit at
speeds of up to 50 mph. In addition, riders are flipped six times on
the spinning coaster, the height of which is a whopping 125 feet.
