Awareness about COVID-19 is the need of the hour and everybody is doing their bit to keep the virus at bay. Be it billboards, posters, pamphlets, audio announcements or government-back videos in public places, awareness about the pandemic is currently the primary focus in India.

In the latest addition, AAP MLA Rohit Mehraulia, in a viral video, can be seen and heard singing songs for the residents of Trilokpuri and raising awareness about the importance of getting vaccinated. What makes the song catchy is the link to Kishore Kumar.

“Eena meena deeka, lagwao bhai teeka… Afwahon pe tum mat jana, corona ko hai jad se mitana,” he sang with Djembe and Guitars playing in the background.

According to reports, Mehraulia is a former music teacher at St Francis School in Ghaziabad. He was elected to the Delhi assembly from Trilokpuri in the 2020 polls.

He has been using his vocal talents to campaign against vaccine hesitancy in this constituency.

“We wrote the song then and there and decided its tune would follow the rhythm scheme of Kishore Kumar’s hit song, Eena meena deeka, from the film Aasha,” Times of India quoted Mehraulia as saying.

“People in my assembly constituency have been very receptive to the song,” Mehraulia added.
