A Zambian news anchor on Saturday protested against his news channel for withholding his and his colleagues’ salary by calling out the employer on air. KBN TV anchor named Kabinda Kalimina interrupted the news bulletin and told the audience that the channel has not been paying salaries to many of its colleagues.
In a video shared on Facebook by Kaliminia, it can be seen that the anchor starts reading news headlines as usual but soon brings a twist to his show and make the appalling accusation.

“Away from the news, ladies and gentleman, we are human beings. We have to get paid. Unfortunately, on KBN we haven’t been paid… Sharon and everyone else hasn’t been paid, including myself. We have to get paid,” said Kaliminia
Meanwhile, KBN TV has accused Kaliminia of being “drunk” and called his behaviour “despicable”.
KBN TV’s chief executive Kennedy Mambwe released a statement on Facebook. “As KBN TV, we are appalled with the drunken behaviour exhibited through a video clip that has gone viral on social media and staged by one of our part-time presenters during what should have been the main news bulletin.”
The video so far has been viewed over a thousand times on the internet and received overwhelming responses from social media users.
