Life took a U-turn for a woman identified as Swati seen begging on Assi Ghat in Varanasi. She is fluent in English and claims to be a computer science graduate.

Six winter essentials every man needs

Talking about herself to the person recording a video that has gone viral on the internet, Swati said she was from south India and lived a regular life with her husband and family. But when her first baby was born, the right side of her body became paralyzed. She was forced to leave her home and ended up in Varanasi. Swati has been living on the streets of Varanasi for three years and is surviving on alms.

People often assume her to be mentally unwell but Swati wants to rebuild her life. In the viral video, Swati can be heard speaking fluent English and asking for help. The person recording the clip highlighted her educational qualifications and asked visitors at Assi Ghat to help Swati find a job. The woman needs support more than alms and sympathy to get back to a normal life.

Her story shows that at times in spite of having a good educational background as well as a well paying and steady job are not enough for a person to enjoy stability in life.

Swati was forced out of her house is now dependent upon charity from passersby in order to survive. She does not wish to continue living this way and wants to find a job which will help her rebuild her life and get back on her feet.

A similar story had broken out last year when a 90-year-old IIT graduate was forced to resort to begging. Surendra Vashishth had graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering from IIT Kanpur in 1969 but things did not go according to plan.
