In February, a couple from Tamil Nadu will hold their Hogwarts-themed wedding celebration in Metaverse. Dinesh S P and Janaganandhini Ramaswamy will marry in their hamlet of Sivalingapuram but will hold a digital celebration at a virtual location attended by friends and family from all around the world.
Dinesh told indianexpress.com that he came up with the concept. “We are the nation’s first couple to marry in Metaverse.” I’ve been working on blockchain for a year now, so I’m more knowledgeable about it and Crypto. “Metaverse is a blockchain technology,” he explained.

“I stumbled found a video about Metaverse on YouTube one lovely day.” Why couldn’t we hold an event in Metaverse, I reasoned? I’m aware that the future is important in the Metaverse. Companies such as Microsoft, Facebook, and others are now investing in Metaverse. So I reasoned that by holding an event, everyone in India would be aware of the technology. “We can work on a start-up and grow it,” Dinesh, a project associate at IIT Madras, noted.
The bride’s father died in April of last year, but Dinesh intends to have his digital avatar at the celebration. “My girlfriend’s father died in April of last year.” I’d want to surprise her. I’ve been thinking of bringing him in digitally and incorporating him into the event. He will appear in the Metaverse as a 3D avatar to bless us. “That’s the best present I can offer her,” Dinesh said.

Janaganandhini, a Potterhead, is looking forward to the Hogwarts theme on a momentous day. “When he discussed the Metaverse event, I didn’t grasp it at first.” It was unfamiliar to me. “I was like, wow,” the TCS employee told indianexpress.com.
“I was skeptical that it would be doable. I asked him why we couldn’t do it in the village. I asked him if it would be done in a conventional manner, how people would join, what they would wear, and so on. So yet, I have not completely grasped the notion. “I’m hoping it goes well,” Janaganandhini stated.
TardiVerse, a Chennai-based start-up managed by Vignesh Selvaraj, is pioneering the metaverse project. It is built on the Polygon Technology Blockchain.
“People will use the website to log in.” They can select an avatar. Avatars of the couple, their family, and friends have already been created. The couple’s video will be streamed, and visitors will be able to communicate with one another. The Harry Potter theme was chosen as a result of the couple’s proposal. “If someone wants to arrange an event in the Indian version, we are open to it,” stated Tradiverse CEO Vignesh Selvaraj.
“A demonstration will be held on January 25 for individuals who are not technologically savvy.” It is simple to use. One may log in using a desktop, laptop, or tablet. We’ve gotten a number of proposals since the Metaverse wedding banquet went viral. “We are arranging an event for the forthcoming Valentine’s Day,” Selvaraj stated.

The Metaverse is a digital environment populated with digital representations of people, places, and objects. To put it another way, it’s a “digital world” where actual people are represented by digital items.
According to Insider, Traci and Dave Gagnon of Florida were the first couples in the world to perform a virtual wedding ceremony in September of last year. “Dave and Traci Gagnon had avatars generated for their Metaverse wedding based on personal images and the attire they wore to their in-person ceremony.” Traci and Dave Gagnon met in the cloud, so it seemed only natural that their wedding would take place there as well. Virbela, a firm that creates virtual worlds for work, study, and events, hosted a ceremony for the couple — or rather, their digital avatars — during Labor Day weekend. “#startup,” Dinesh said in his post.
