Vishwakarma Jayanti is a Hindu festival and a day of celebration for Lord Vishwakarma. He is considered as the divine architect, swayambhu and creator of the world. It is believed that constructed the city of Dwarka where Krishna ruled. Apart from this, he constructed the palace of Indraprastha for the Pandavas. He is also considered as the creator of many weapons for the gods.
As part of the weapons, he is believed to have created Lord Shiva‘s Trishul (trident), Lord Vishnu’s Sudarshana Chakra (discus), Indra’s Vajra (thunderbolt), Ravana’s Pushpak Vimana (aircraft), among others.
