Tech billionaire Elon Musk and his girlfriend Grimes on May 5 revealed the name of their new born boy as ‘X Æ A-12 Musk,’ and left the internet in a fix. The couple later the name to ‘X Æ A-Xii,’ saying the Roman numerical look better.

While some people thought this was a joke, others started pondering about the meaning of the symbolic name. Laying an end to all the theories, Musk, the CEO of SpaceX, explained what his son’s name meant and how it would be pronounced during a podcast with American Comedian Joe Rogan.

Tesla CEO on ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ said, “First of all, my partner’s the one that mostly came up with the name. I mean it’s just X, the letter X, and the ‘Æ’ is pronounced, ‘Ash,’ and then, A-12 is my contribution.”

Musk further said in the podcast interview that A-12 is Archangel-12, and is the precursor to SR-71, saying it is the ‘coolest plane ever.’

Singer Grimes, his girlfriend, had earlier tweeted the same explaining the meaning behind each of the variables and symbols.

However, the SpaceX CEO might not be able to use this name for his son as California’s constitution only allows 26 alphabetical characters of English language.
