Who were J Robert Oppenheimer’s children?

Peter Oppenheimer: The elder child and son of J. Robert Oppenheimer and Kitty Harrison, Peter Oppenheimer, was born on February 22, 1939. It is known that Peter reportedly worked as a carpenter, and he has three children of his own. Beyond these fundamental facts, the general public knows very little about his personal interests.

Peter now resides at the New Mexico ranch called Perro Caliente which his father bought when he was a little kid. According to an interview with Peter’s son Charles conducted in 2015 (per the AHF), Peter told Robert as a teenager, “I’m going to take care of it.”

Katherine “Toni” Oppenheimer: Toni, also referred to as “Katherine,” was the younger child of J. Robert Oppenheimer and Kitty Harrison. Born in Los Alamos, Toni had polio while young. Toni was introduced to St. John, a remote area in the U.S. Virgin Islands, during her polio treatment, and she enjoyed living there.

Shortly after turning 33 and her second marriage ending, Toni committed suicide in St. John. According to “109 East Palace,” she passed away in the island house her father built.

According to reports, despite his love for both of his children, some claim that J. Robert Oppenheimer never truly connected with either one of them, and this lack of connection had an impact on his son. The same is said of Toni and Peter’s purportedly strained bond with their mother Kitty, who battled alcoholism and passed away in 1972 from a pulmonary embolism.
