Ajax manager Erik ten Hag is likely to have a new post as Manchester United are expected to confirm the Dutchman as their next permanent manager.
This was reported by Fabrizio Romano, who has an inside track in the football world. Romano noted that the agreement on the contract is yet to take place and Mitchell van der Gaag is a priority candidate for the coaching staff position.

Further, the two clubs are expected to discuss a two million euro clause, and an announcement regarding ten Hag will be made in the future.
William Hill a 1934 London-based gambling company has reported the news as well, asking United fans to share their thoughts.
The Dutchman has long been eyed by the Red Devils, who have not quite found the fit after Sir Alex Ferguson gave up the reigns. Since then, United has gone through five managers, including noteworthy candidates Jose Mourinho, Louis van Gaal, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The club also had a brief and all-too-forgettable stint with David Moyes and is currently being helmed by the godfather of Gegenpressing, Ralf Rangnick. The German will stay on in a mentoring capacity.
One sticking point when ten Hag takes over is that the manager will have a final call along with the club executive on all transfers that are made since it is the Dutchman’s view that errors in the market have marred United’s performance.

When ten Hag joins, the manager will likely have to address United’s defensive woes, which have plagued the side all season, with news emerging that the club is looking for new center back.
Talismanic striker Cristiano Ronaldo’s future also remains in doubt as ten Hag had made it clear that the Portuguese would be out since his playing style doesn’t match the manager’s. However, Ronaldo has been carrying United on his shoulders in some instances, as evidenced by the hattrick against Norwich, giving the win to the club and setting a record of 50 club hattricks for the striker.
An official announcement is expected to come after the Liverpool fixture at Anfield, on April 20.
