The Washington Wizards, Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers are reportedly close to completing a three-team trade involving Kristaps Porziņģis, Marcus Morris and Malcolm Brogdon.

As per the trade, Porziņģis will move to the Celtics, Morris and draft compensation to Washington and Brogdon to Los Angeles, the Athletic reported citing league sources.

Celtics fans are excited to see Latvian star Kristaps Porziņģis pair up with All-Star duo Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum in Boston.

“Tatum and Brown on the bench in a 4th quarter blowout while Porzingis is hitting stepback threes,” a Twitter user said.

“Porzingis would opt-in to his $36M for 2023-2024 to make potential trade happen, but there are still outstanding issues to be completed before a deal can be reached. Boston’s Danilo Gallinari would be in deal to Wizards too, sources said,” Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN tweeted.

The Athletic added that the deal is considered a “high possibility”.

Washington acquired Porziņģis in February 2022. He averaged a career-high 23.2 points last season, along with 8.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 32.6 minutes per game. Marcus Morris averaged 11.2 points and four rebounds. Brogdon did not make a start last season. The 30-year-old had an average of 14.9 points with 4.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists.

The Boston Celtics finished second in the Eastern Conference during the regular season. They were defeated by the Miami Heat in the finals.
