Arsene Wenger attended the Arsenal vs West Ham Premier League 2022-23 match at Emirates Stadium on Monday- his first time at his former club’s home ground since leaving in 2018. 

The former Gunners manager rose to celebrate Bukayo Saka’s goal only to realize that it has been ruled offside.

Wenger is currently serving as the chief of football development with FIFA. He was the manager of Arsenal from 1996 to 2018, an illustrious 22 years career that saw him transition the club from the early years of the Premier League to its latest manifestation.

Wenger has been credited with creating the Arsenal Invincible team that did not lose a single match in the Premier League 2003-04 season, becoming the eventual champions.

He also led the Gunners to two UEFA Champions League final, but sadly failed to win any. 

His presence at the Emirates Stadium today will certainly boost the Arsenal team. They are sitting at the top of the league table having only lost to Manchester United.

They have four points from 14 games. They are eight points clear of 2021-22 Premier League winner Manchester City. 

However, the first half did not go as expected for the Gunners as they went down by a goal, thanks to a Said Benrahma penalty. If they lose today, it will be only their second loss in the season. 

With their key man Gabriel Jesus sustaining an injury with Brazil during the FIFA World Cup 2022, they have a large void to fill in the center forward position.
