After a brilliant show from Trent Alexander-Arnold in Liverpool vs Aston Villa Premier League 2022-23 match, fans on social media questioned England manager Gareth Southgate’s decision to bench him in the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Alexander-Arnold produced a brilliant pass from the midfield for Andy Robertson which led to Liverpool’s first goal.

“Southgate not selecting Trent Alexander Arnold says everything you need to know about the nonachiever. You find a position for players with his ability. Looks the rest and refresh has done him the world of good,” one fan said on Twitter.

“Hey you know England would be really good if they just had a player like Trent Alexander-Arnold. It’s too bad they don’t have a player like Trent Alexander-Arnold. Oh how they must wish they had a player like Trent Alexander-Arnold. What they could do with a player like Trent Ale,” said another.

“Trent Alexander-Arnold is the best creator in England alongside Madisson, funny how Southgate didn’t consider both as starters. #LFC#Liverpool,” tweeted another.

“Thank god #England didn’t bring @TrentAA when chasing a goal eh? Don’t want those kind of world class, like breaking passes anywhere near a side huh. Better to safely loose by a goal or two. #CantDefend,” asked another sarcastically.

“The Trent Alexander Arnold we all knew is back. What a game he’s having tonight,” tweeted one.
