Fans slammed the poor Tottenham Hotspur show against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on Monday and called it boring after Spurs went down by a goal in the Premier League match in the 15th minute.

“Slow, boring no ideas, it’s good to have spurs back #Spurs,” Jamie O’Hara, former SPurs player and football pundit said on Twitter.

Another fan blamed Tottenham manager Antonio Conte for the team’s poor show against the Bees.

“We need juve to come in for conte… I’d rather have big Sam or Steve Bruce atm than put myself thru anymore of this dross that Conte serves up week in, week out. #Spurs #Conte shite,” the fan wrote.

“I have heard theories that Spurs slow first half is a deliberate Conte strategy in order to conserve energy for individual games and over the season. Seems a stretch TBH,” another fan said on Twitter jokingly.

Some fans were particularly displeased with Spur’s defending as Cristian Romero misses out on the starting 11 after winning the Qatar World Cup with Argentina. Japhet Tanganga, an England under-21 international, started in his place and much of the flak was directed against him.

“Tanganga has clearly won the Tottenham Hotspur Christmas raffle to play with the team. Completely out his depth and needs to be gone in the transfer window,” a fan wrote.

Another fan decided to take on Spur’s defense on the whole suggesting that all the players in the back line are not up to the mark.

“How are Dier, Tanganga, and Sanchez still Tottenham players? They’ve been here for way too long and they aren’t good enough. We constantly say that we need to overhaul our defence so why are they still at the club????” the fan said.
