According to accounts, Johnson was body-slammed by Baltimore tight end Mark Andrews after a series of altercations that occurred during the joint practice. After an impressive 2022 season, Johnson returned to Washington in March. He is attempting to secure an expanded role during training camp. His condition is still being monitored daily.

Before the altercation was broken up, Andrews reportedly delivered a body slam to Johnson that was similar to a WWE movement.

According to information from a league source, it was later discovered on Thursday that Johnson had suffered a rotator cuff injury during the altercation. A similar act by Andrews during a game would probably result in a suspension and penalty from the league.

Andrews, on the other hand, is not subject to punishment or even a mild warning because the incident occurred during practice—a context that some people think the league has implicitly accepted. Several incidents of fighting have been recorded during joint practices between several teams.

Danny Johnson’s college football career got off to a good start at Southern University. He signed with Washington as an undrafted free agent in 2018, making his NFL debut.

Johnson participated in the NFL Combine in 2018. However, he was not picked in the NFL Draft. He quickly signed an undrafted free agent contract with the Washington Redskins, who are now known as the Commanders, nonetheless. He was placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list to begin his 2019 season while he recovered from an injury. He then reconnected with the group and signed a new deal on March 23, 2022.
