Virat Kohli roared back to form in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with a 52-ball 90 against a formidable Chennai Super Kings on Saturday night. While CSK’s batting woes continued in the league, Kohli grabbed the opportunity with both hands and guided his team to a victory. En route to his unbeaten knock, Kohli hit four boundaries and as many sixes, with a strike rate of 173.08.

Following his knock, cricketers and fans alike took to Twitter to laud the Indian captain for his brilliant innings.

Kohli’s unbeaten 90 helped Royal Challengers Bangalore post a competitive 169/4 in 20 overs. Other than Kohli, opener Devdutt Padikkal scored 33 runs and Shivam Dube chipped in with important 22 runs.

In reply, CSK could not build the momentum they hoped for as RCB bowlers ran riot. They stemmed the flow of runs and put pressure on the CSK batsmen, who faltered and could not put runs on the scoreboard.

For CSK, Ambati Rayudu (42) scored the highest; N Jagadeesan followed with a 28-ball 33 runs. Chris Morris was the pick of the bowlers for RCB as he returned with figures of 3/19 in his stipulated four overs. Washington Sundar also scalped two wickets in his four overs.
