The Big Ten Conference announced signing a new seven-year media rights deal with CBS, Fox and NBC on Thursday. The new mega deal will see the league receiving $1 billion every year, which is also the most in the history of college sports.

The deal is set to begin in 2023 and will end after the 2029-30 season. It will also ensure Big Ten matches are telecasted on CBS, Fox and NBC for a long time every day.

According to the league, the Big Ten college teams’ matches will be shown on Fox in the noon ET slot, 3:30 pm ET slot on CBS and during prime time on NBC. The new deal also enables CBS to have the rights to the SEC games in 2024.

The newly agreed deal will see Big Ten matches take their leave from ESPN, who was offering $300 million every year for a 10-year deal beginning in 2024.

“The Big Ten Conference media rights agreements are more than just dollars and deals,” Big Ten Commissioner Kevin Warren said.

“They are a mechanism to provide stability and maximum exposure for our student-athletes, member institutions and partners during these uncertain times in collegiate athletics,” he added.

Big Ten shows will be telecasted on CBS from 2023, which include seven football games along with men’s and women’s basketball. In the next year, CBS will also telecast 15 Big Ten regular season matches, which will include a Black Friday game.

NBC will telecast as many as 16 games in 2023 when the network launches its Big Ten Saturday Night show.

The league already has an agreement with Fox, who already airs its Big Noon Saturday show with detailed coverage of Big Ten. The network also owns the majority stake in the Big Ten network and will continue its coverage in the noon ET slot.

Southern California and UCLA will be joining the Big Ten in 2024, which will also help the networks to add Los Angeles to their potential markets.
