Brandon Miller was selected by the Charlotte Hornets as the No 2 pick of the 2023 NBA Draft on Thursday. However, fans were left surprised.

Several Hornets fans wanted the team to select Scoot Henderson instead. Miller, from Alabama Crimson Tide, will pair up with LaMelo Ball next season.

Fans argued that Henderson, from the G League, is a much more consistent player. Some said that the Ball-Miller combination in the backcourt will not work and the former will be soon traded.

Some audience members at the Spectrum Center booed Miller’s selection at No 2.

Hornets manager Mitch Kupchak was asked about the booing by Hornets fans in the Spectrum Center.

“I’m not aware of that. It’s news to me. Brandon was our favorite all along,” he said.

“Did the Hornets make a smart move drafting Brandon Miller over Scoot Henderson? 🤔” a Twitter user asked.

“No disrespect, but Brandon Miller over Scoot Henderson is a mistake,” another one added.

“Brandon Miller will be better than Scoot Henderson. Bookmark this,” a third one tweeted.

The Charlotte Hornets choose Alabama’s Brandon Miller with the No 2 pick. I guess they did their research and are comfortable with him.

Miller is the top college player in this year’s draft. He made 38.4% of his three-point attempts last season.
