Brandon Miller was selected by the Charlotte Hornets as the No 2 pick of the 2023 NBA Draft on Thursday. However, fans were left surprised.

Several Hornets fans wanted the team to select Scoot Henderson instead. Miller, from Alabama Crimson Tide, will pair up with LaMelo Ball next season.

Fans argued that Henderson, from the G League, is a much more consistent player. Some said that the Ball-Miller combination in the backcourt will not work and the former will be soon traded.

Some audience members at the Spectrum Center booed Miller’s selection at No 2.

Hornets manager Mitch Kupchak was asked about the booing by Hornets fans in the Spectrum Center.

“I’m not aware of that. It’s news to me. Brandon was our favorite all along,” he said.

“Did the Hornets make a smart move drafting Brandon Miller over Scoot Henderson? 🤔” a Twitter user asked.
