Cristiano Ronaldo might be going through a tough phase in his professional life, but his partner Georgina Rodriguez ensured that the Portuguese superstar had a smile on his face during the holidays by gifting him a stunning Rolls Royce.

Ronaldo has been the subject of trolls after Portugal crashed out of the FIFA World Cup 2022 after losing to Morocco in the round of 16. Now that his eternal rival Lionel Messi has managed to win football’s most coveted prize, many detractors of Ronaldo have come out guns blazing, claiming that the Portguese should no longer call himself the greatest since Messi’s achievements have now sealed the debate once and for all.

CR7 had also created headlines across the world before the World Cup when he gave a tell-all interview to British talk show host Piers Morgan where he lashed out against his former club Manchester United, making incendiary comments about club executives and manager Erik ten Hag.

Ronaldo was benched in two key matches for Portugal by his former national team manager, Fernando Santos, which resulted in Rodriguez criticising him on social media. She said in an Instagram story, “Today your friend and coach decided wrong. That friend for whom you have so many words of admiration and respect”.

“The same one who, by getting you into the game, saw how everything changed, but it was too late. You cannot underestimate the best player in the world, his most powerful weapon,” she further added.

The 28-year-old also remarked, “Nor can you stick up for someone who doesn’t deserve it. Life teaches us lessons. Today we have not lost, we have learned”.

Ronaldo is currently without a club and is looking for options. He has been approached by Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, who are ready to pay him around $75 million a year. However, this will mean that Ronaldo’s playing days at football’s elite level will draw to a close in a lacklustre way, something exactly opposite of what his glittering career has been.
