Watch:

Spain took on Germany in a highly crucial group E encounter in the 2022 FIFA World Cup at the Al Bayt stadium in Al Khor, Qatar on Monday. Having started the match on a positive note with significantly higher ball possession than Germany, Spain made inroads towards the goal as early as the 7th minute when the ball raced into the German half of the court thanks to able passes by Spanish mid fielders, before presenting Dani Olmo with a realistic shot at a goal. While the long shot was on target, a timely jump by skipper cum goalie Manuel Neuer ensured that the ball went up and hit the cross bar, aiding Germany in warding off the imminent danger.

Later in the first half, it was Germany in with a chance, as they got a corner in the 39th minute. The ball carried well and Antonio Rudiger scored a brilliant header, only for VARS ( voice activated response system) to rule it out as an offside and deny Germany a much needed goal.
