Jewellery brand Tanishq is once again on the radar of some of the social media users after their last advertisement on interfaith marriage that created a huge uproar. The latest ad featuring actresses Neena Gupta, Sayani Gupta, Nimrat Kaur and Aalia F emphasize spending Diwali with the family with lots of sweets, playing dress-ups and no fire-crackers.

Using hashtag #boycotttanishq, some of the Twitter users ask the jewellery brand to stop giving “gyan” and focus on their business.

“Why should anyone advise Hindus how to celebrate Our Festivals? Companies must focus on selling their products, not lecture us to refrain from bursting Crackers. We will light lamps, distribute sweets and burst green crackers. Please join us. You will understand Ekatvam,” said a user.

“By giving so much knowledge in ur ad. You asked for it…..#boycotttanishq,” said another user.

Previously, their advertisement on interfaith love triggered a furious backlash on social media with some accusing the jewellery brand of promoting ‘love jihad’. This propelled the company to withdraw the film citing hurt sentiments and the well-being of its staff.

In a statement, the company said they are “deeply saddened with the inadvertent stirring of emotions”. The film, it added, had “stimulated divergent and severe reactions, contrary to its very objective”.
