The new official anthem of the Pakistan Super League titled ‘Aaj Dekhe Ga Crowd Mera Groove TV Pe,’ which was released on February 6, has not been received well by some people, including former pacer Shoaib Akhtar. The former Pakistani cricketer, in a video posted on Twitter and YouTube, criticised the anthem saying that he is “really disappointed.”

Making fun of the anthem, Akhtar further said, “Is this how you’re taking PSL brand up? Going down every year. Kon banata hai yeh [Who makes this]?”

He asked that who from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) approved it, further saying, “You guys have scared my children. They haven’t been talking to me for three days because of you.”

Sarcastically, the former pacer said he is willing to take the PCB to the court for the anthem.

The Pakistan Super League will start on February 20 as the PCB has allowed spectators inside cricket stadiums, for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic. The PCB on Thursday said that the government has allowed a 20% capacity crowd at PSL matches.

On February 20, the first match of the sixth season of the PSL will begin with Karachi hosting the games after which the competition will move to Lahore, where the remaining next 14 days will be played. The final will take place in Lahore on March 22.
