With Philadelphia Eagles’ first-choice quarterback Jalen Hurts out with an injury, Gardner Minshew will most likely get a start in the Eagles’ Sunday night game against the Dallas Cowboys.

The 26-year-old former Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback is with the Eagles since 2021. With Hurts’ status still uncertain, the Eagles have plans to be ready with Gardner for the big Sunday game.

Tim McManus of ESPN reported that Minshew had a full day of practice on Thursday based on information provided by other Eagles players. Tight end Dallas Godert told Eagles reported that Minshew made several tight-window throws during their practice session.

He added that Minshew was “singing the hell out of football.”

Gardner Minshew family

Gardner Minshew was born in Flowood, Mississippi, on March 16, 1996. His father Flint Minshew worked as a contractor while his mother Kim Minshew was a teacher of mathematics at a school.

Meredith Minshew, Gardner Minshew’s sister, is a medical student at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Meredith received her bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University back in 2020. She then graduated with a Master’s in Biomedical Science from the University of Mississippi after two years.

Callie Minshew, his other sister plays volleyball for Eastern Michigan. She previously played for the Hailstate.
