Team India will face the West Indies in a three-match T20I series starting on Wednesday, with the objective of figuring out their lineup in the early rounds of the T20 World Cup in 2022. The entire series will be held in Eden Gardens in Kolkata. India was dominant in the previous ODI series, in which they won 3-0, and they’ll be trying to maintain that dominance at Eden Park.

In place of the injured KL Rahul, wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has been named Rohit’s vice-captain. With Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami rested, Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur are expected to step up in the pace department. Indian fans will also be hoping that Virat Kohli, who scored 26 runs in the three ODIs vs the Windies, to get big runs.

Here are three key players you need to look out for:

Ishan Kishan

Ishan Kishan, the most expensive player in the recently concluded IPL Auction, will undoubtedly be thrilled to display his ability in the shortest format. Furthermore, he has not been performing to his full capacity recently, so it would be interesting to see how much confidence he has regained following his record-breaking sale.

Virat Kohli

Kohli had a forgettable ODI series against the West Indies. He scored 8, 18, and 0 runs in the three One-Day Internationals and hopes to make amends in the T20I series. Kohli has been a tad chilly recently, but he will bat at his regular number three spot and will be in the first T20I playing XI.

Kieron Pollard

Kieron Pollard might return as India’s captain in the first T20I against the West Indies. Due to a niggle, the right-handed batter missed the second and third ODIs. Now that he has had some time to heal, he may be able to lead the squad in the first T20I.
