YouTuber Daniel Jarvis aka ‘Jarvo69’, known for intruding India and England’s games throughout the ongoing series, invaded the Oval pitch on Day 2 of the fourth Test. This time, the Englishman, sporting India’s whites, came running to bowl and crashed into Jonny Bairstow at the non-striker’s end.

First at Lord’s, then at Headingley and now at the Oval, Jarvo running in to disturb the game has become more of a pattern. When he intruded into the field of play at Leeds, he was banned for life on charges of security breach. But him being able to do it again, raises questions on the security at the English grounds.

“I think a few people need to be sacked at grounds in England. This is a very serious security lapse and it just continues. Not even a prank anymore. #Jarvo #Idiot,” commentator Harsha Bhogle tweeted.

As soon as Jarvo collided with Bairstow on the pitch, English groundmen came in to escort him away from the field of play. While the incident left some with nothing but laughter, others on social media slammed the security at the grounds.

“Yes, Daniel Jarvis will be banned from Headingley for life. We will also be imposing a financial penalty,” a Yorkshire CCC spokesperson had told PTI when asked how the county deals with this kind of transgression. This statement came after Jarvo was seen popping up from the gallery located on one side of the sightscreen, wearing batting pads and a blue helmet with a surgical face mask on at Leeds.  Someone from the crowd also threw a cricket bat as he entered the field of play and reached the pitch.

At Lord’s Jarvis was spotted walking casually on the ground in an Indian jersey with his name on the back.

“If this ain’t a breach of the bio-bubble, then what is? What’s @ECB_cricket and the UK authorities doing? Once fine, but thrice, come on! This is outrageous. Just imagine if this happened in India, then the English media would’ve gone bonkers over it,” a Twitter user said.

“Jarvo is back on the field of play. And this time he’s physically bumped into Olie Pope. I hope nobody is seeing humour in it anymore. Appalling that he’s allowed to attend every game in this series,” Indian player turned commentator Aakash Chopra tweeted.
