IPL 2022: Chahal, Hetmyer shine in RR's win over Lucknow Super Giants

Yuzvendra Chahal continued his purple patch in IPL 2022 as the leg-spinner picked four wickets against the Lucknow Super Giants at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai on Sunday. The Rajasthan Royals won by three runs.
Chahal preyed on the likes of opener Quinton de Kock, Ayush Badoni, Krunal Pandya and Dushmantha Chameera, recording figures of 4/41. Trent Boult finished with two as Kuldeep Sen and Prasidh Krishna picked one each. Ravichandran Ashwin went wicketless but conceded at only five runs per over.
Chasing 166, the Lucknow Super Giants lost their first three wickets for 14 runs. De Kock played a 39-run hand and Deepak Hooda scored 25. It was Marcus Stoinis' 17-ball 38 that kept them in contention.
Needing 34 runs off 12 balls, Stoinis accumulated 19 of Krishna in the puenltimate over but Kuldeep Sen held his nerves and gave away just one run in the first four balls to shine on his debut.
In the first innings, Shimron Hetmyer put up a 59-run exhibition off 36 balls with the help of six maxiums and one four.
The West Indies hard-hitter's innings came after the team lost wickets in quick succession following openers Jos Buttler (13 off 11) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (29 off 29) 42-run stand in five overs.
Ravichandran Ashwin, who made 28 runs in 23 deliveries, became the first player in the IPL to be declared retired out. The off-spinner was called off the pitch in the 19th over and was replaced by Riyan Parag (8 off 4 balls).
