The top question in all Damar Hamlin fans’ heads is whether their favorite player would be making an NFL comeback in the Buffalo Bills vs Indianapolis Colts preseason game on Saturday, August 12.

The Bills safety had collapsed on the field during a game at the Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati in January following a tackle with the Bengals. He road to recovery was a long one as he was hospitalized for a number of days following the collapse.

Is Damar Hamlin playing in Buffalo Bills vs Indianapolis Colts?

Hamlin has got the green light from Bills head coach Sean McDermott to play in his team’s preseason game versus the Colts today. According to McDermott deciding whether Hamlin should play was “uncharted territory.” However, the coach has noted that Hamlin will be monitored.

“This is to some extent uncharted territory for me as well, and all of us. So we’re just trying to do the best we can to be there for him. I try to keep a close eye on where he is and where he’s showing up and how he’s responding. And he’s done a great job.”

Hamlin also attended the Bills’ playoff game against the Bengals at Highmark Stadium. And now, fans will be delighted to know that Hamlin will be back on the field in the afternoon. Back in April, after months rehab, Hamin was finally cleared by the doctors and returned to the practice field in June. At the time he told the media that all his focus was on staying in the present and not focus much on what is to come.

“Trying to look forward, it just creates a lot of anxiety, a lot of unnecessary feelings. If you stay in the moment, it allows you to process it when you’re there,” he said. When the ex-University of Pittsburgh player was asked how he was feeling about stepping onto the field again, Hamlin relied, “It’s too soon, man.”
