The nail-biting IPL match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore ended in a super over, with Bangalore prevailing over Mumbai. Ishan Kishan scored a brilliant 99 almost taking Mumbai Indians home. The 22-year-old left-handed batsman smashed a whopping nine sixes in his 58-ball blitz.

MI all-rounder Kieron Pollard supported Kishan hitting 60 not out in just 24 balls. Despite the stellar show from the duo, RCB managed to take the game to super over.

Virat Kohli’s Bangalore then kept Mumbai down to seven in the super over, a score they surpassed with the skipper hitting the winning boundary on the final ball from Mumbai pacer Jasprit Bumrah.

Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma hailed Ishan Kishan for his valiant effort.

“It was a great game,” said Mumbai’s captain Rohit Sharma.

“We were not in the game at all when we started with the bat. Great innings by Ishan to get us back,” the Mumbai skipper said.

“With Polly (Pollard) being there, anything can happen, and Ishan can hit it. We had the belief that we could do it. They held their nerves although we put pressure,” he added.
