Indian bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been released from India’s squad for the fourth Test against England, beginning in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad this Thursday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said on Saturday. He has been released due to personal reasons, BCCI added.

In a press release, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said, “Jasprit Bumrah made a request to BCCI to be released from India’s squad ahead of the fourth Test owing to personal reasons.”

The Board said no addition to India’s squad will be made for the final Test.

“Accordingly, the fast bowler has been released and he will not be available for selection for the fourth Test.”

The bowler has already been rested for the upcoming white-ball series after the four-Test series.
