Jonathan Taylor, rated the top pick in this year’s NFL fantasy, sustained an ankle injury against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, head coach Frank Reich said. The team lost 24-17 at the Lucas Oil Stadium.
Taylor, a running back, had 20 carries for 42 scoreless yards against the Titans. He was projected for 18.16 points in the Yahoo fantasy league but scored 2.80.

The 23-year-old suffered an ankle injury on the play when he fumbled in the third quarter. He did not return to the game for the last drive. He was selected in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft with the 41st pick by the Colts. In his first season, Jonathan Taylor led the league in both rushing yards and touchdowns. He also became a unanimous All-Pro and Pro Bowler.

However, he has failed to fire in 2022. The 23-year-old missed the first practice of his career on Wednesday with soreness in his toe. The Kansas City Chief’s defense held him to 21 carries for 71 yards in Week 3.
Since dethroning Henry to win last year’s rushing crown, Taylor has been among the league’s top runners. He got only nine carries against Jacksonville and was limited to 3.4 yards against Kansas City.

Now, with an injury scare, Taylor might miss Week 5. What do fantasy managers do now?
Managers will now be looking for RB alternatives for Taylor.

Latavius Murray of the New Orleans Saints scored 13.00 fantasy points on Yahoo this week. Only 1% of the managers drafted him. He rushed 11 times for 57 rushing yards and one touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings. Caleb Huntley, who had 56 yards and 1 TD, would also be available on waiver wire. Tyler Allgeier, Raheem Mostert and Kenneth Gainwell are the other players to consider.
