Thanks to two home runs from DJ Peters and a career-high four hits driving in four runs, Texas Rangers registered a 7-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday in the Major League Baseball (MLB).

Peters, a former Dodgers outfielder who grew up in Glendora, just 30 minutes north of Angel Stadium, had his first multi-homer game of the season.

While Texas stopped a three-game losing streak, he launched a solo home run in the second inning and a three-run blast in the third, before adding a single and a late double, delighting his family and friends in the Anaheim seats.

“I feel like every day, a hundred people are here,” Peters said about the series, according to Associated Press inputs. “It’s awesome having friends, family, loved ones, high school coaches, just people from Glendora coming out and supporting me. It’s what you play for, and you definitely want to play well when they’re here, so today is a good day for me.”

Meanwhile, Taylor Hearn chipped in with seven-hit ball pitches of the seventh inning.

Hearn (5-4) won his third straight start, giving three runs and striking out four batters in his longest start of the season, snapping the Rangers’ five-game losing streak against the Angels.

The 27-year-old pitcher gave up his only runs on two homers by Jo Adell.

Meanwhile, Hearn also struck out Shohei Ohtani twice, giving him three strikeouts in four career meetings with the big league home run leader.

Ohtani was 0 for 4 in the game. In the eighth inning, the two-way sensation drew a walk and stole his 23rd base, but struck out with two Angels on base to end the game.

On a nine-game homestand that ended Monday, the Angels lost for only the third time.
