MS Dhoni has been visiting an Ayurveda doctor to treat his knee, Hindi daily Dainik Bhaskar reported, adding that the former India captain pays only Rs 40 per visit.

Dhoni, who retired from international cricket in 2020, is reportedly suffering from prolonged knee pain. He did not find any solution through conventional treatments, as per Dainik Bhaskar, and opted for Ayurveda.

The doctor, as per the report, is identified as Vandan Singh Khervar. He was surprised to see the former Indian captain, 40 years old, coming all the way to his village for treatment. He lives in Lapung, approximately 70kms away from Jharkhand’s capital Ranchi.

When MSD came to the village for the first time, villagers surrounded the doctor’s home to catch a glimpse of the cricket legend.

“Dhoni comes like a normal patient without any pomp. He has no pride in being a celebrity. However, now every four days, the news of Dhoni’s arrival gathers his fans here. So now he sits in his car while his medicine is administered to him,” Khervar told IANS.

The doctor, Khervar, has also treated MS Dhoni’s parents, Pan Singh (81) and Devki Singh (71), in the past. He has been seeing the CSK captain for three months now.

MSD led the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2022, after Ravindra Jadeja stepped down midway through the season. The team finished ninth on the points table. He has on several occassions admitted that he will be associated to the four-time champions in the next few years.
