Coronavirus pandemic has sent many a career into tailspin
across the world, and sportspersons are no immune to its detriments.

Had everything gone as planned, Sunday would have been the
day when T20 World Cup final would have been played. To be hosted in Australia,
the tournament was postponed by the ICC in view of the raging pandemic.

One of the several casualties of the tragedy is Paul van
Meekeren, the Netherlands fast bowler, who sent a tweet on Sunday sharing how
he had to take to delivering food as an Uber Eats guy, when he should have been
playing because of the enormity of the virus attack.

” Should’ve been playing cricket today now I’m delivering
Uber eats to get through the winter months!! Funny how things change hahaha
keep smiling people,” the bowler tweeted.

van Meekerne tweeted this replying to a tweet by the ICC,
which posted a sorry message on the site reminding fans of the lost tournament.

The Tournament, the final of which was scheduled to be held at The
MCG Melbourne, has now been postponed to 2022, with India staying as the host
for the 2021 World Cup.

Netherlands beat UAE in the qualifier to seal qualification
to the 2020 T20 World Cup, and will now take part in the 2021 T20 World Cup.

Paul van Meekeren has played 41 T20 Internationals (T20Is)
for Netherlands and taken 47 wickets.

The ICC had issued a statement postponing the tournament in July.
A month later it announced that the 2021 tournament will be held in India as
per the original schedule and Australia the 2022 one.
