The New Orleans Saints faced the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 8 of the 2022 NFL season on Sunday, October 30, at Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The Saints were winless in their last two games coming in Sunday’s game, however, put up an inspiring display, leading 24-0 over the visitors with 7:47 left on the clock in the third quarter.
The game also saw 27-year-old running back Alvin Kamara registering three touchdowns, helping the Saints to amass the lead. Two of Kamara’s touchdowns came in the first half, while the third took place right after the break.

Alvin Kamara scored the first touchdown in the Saints’ second drive in the game, when he converted after a 3-yard sprint to help his team take a 7-0 lead. The running back’s second touchdown in the game also came in the first half following a 2-yard reception before sprinting for 14 yards to help the New Orleans Saints take a 16-0 lead.
In the first possession of the second half, Alvin Kamara made a short reception before scoring a 36-yard touchdown to help the Saints to register a 24-0 lead over the Las Vegas Raiders.
The 27-year-old has missed several weeks in the 2022 NFL season owing to injury and did not have a touchdown before facing the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 8. As per the NFL Research, the running back is the first player in the history of the NFL to register at least 1 rushing and receiving touchdown each in the first 10 games in the first six seasons.

Kamara needs one more touchdown to equalize Saints’ great Marques Colston’s 72 career touchdowns, which is also a record for his team.
He has registered 12 carries for 47 yards, 1 rushing touchdown, 9 receptions for 96 yards and 2 receiving touchdowns so far against the Las Vegas Raiders. Kamara has also recorded 989 carries for 4,589 yards, 47 rushing touchdowns, 397 receptions for 3,454 yards, 20 receiving touchdowns and 8 fumbles in his career.
