The Week 5 action in the 2022 NFL season began with the Denver Broncos hosting Indianapolis Colts at the Empower Field at Mile High on Thursday Night Football on October 6. The game began with Colts’ running back Nyheim Hines suffering a concussion which forced him to go off. The Denver Broncos were beaten 9-12 in Thursday Night Football on October 7 by a severely depleted Indianapolis Colts. The Broncos defense was unable to contain the Colts’ attacking threat as they allowed 12 points and registered 6 sacks and 2 interceptions.
Indianapolis Colts defense
The Indianapolis Colts‘ defense did not perform better either. While they allowed 9 points, they also registered 4 sacks, 2 interceptions and 1 block kick. The highlight of their gameplay came when their quarterback Matt Ryan became the most sacked player in the league in the 2022 NFL season.
Alec Pierce
The 22-year-old Indianapolis Colts wide receiver made 8 receptions out of 9 targets for 81 yards, 10.1 yards per reception, 4 first downs and 1 fumble. The rookie wide receiver failed to replicate his previous performances in the season, however, still managed to get his team across the victory line.
Deon Jackson
The 23-year-old registered 13 carries for 62 yards and 4 receptions for 29 yards against the Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football. While Jackson was the Colts’ most crucial wide receiver on the field on October 7, his inability to score a touchdown forced the team to take the game to overtime.
Chase McLaughlin
The Indianapolis Colts placekicker had an underwhelming game against the Broncos on Thursday night. However, McLaughlin scored 4 field goals with 100% accuracy and 12 points on the night.
