Three Eagles sustained injuries in the first half of the preseason game against the Browns at the Linc: OLB Nolan Smith, WR Olamide Zaccheaus, and CB Zach McPhearson.

Officially questionable to return are Smith (shoulder) and Zaccheaus (shoulder), while McPhearson (ankle) has been ruled out.

Smith appeared to first suffer a shoulder injury on a nearly successful sack on a third down in the first quarter, but he continued to play for the very next snap while covering a punt. The first-round pick kept playing, but on the following series the injury became more obvious when he pursued receiver Anthony Schwartz and collided with him.

After a short trip into the blue medical tent, Smith took the long walk inside for further evaluation. As he walked inside, Smith was flexing his arm and seemed to be laughing with the trainers.

Early in the second quarter, McPhearson suffered an injury that appeared to be the most serious of the three. The Eagles‘ reserve cornerback had assistance just to leave the field before being carried inside.

McPhearson has been practising as a nickel cornerback during training camp, but this week he was moved back outside in practise, and he played outside cornerback in this game before departing.

First quarter injury to the shoulder forced Zaccheaus to leave the game. Zaccheaus entered the locker room after making a quick trip to the blue medical tent, but he eventually came out and sprinted back to the sideline. Zaccheaus had one grab for 17 yards on three targets prior to getting hurt. Additionally, he mishandled a pass intended for Marcus Mariota and dropped it. He also had an 11-yard punt return.

The Eagles were missing Quez Watkins throughout the two joint practises this week versus the Browns due to a hamstring ailment. Zaccheaus has thus received more reps. But prior to this week, it was quite obvious that Watkins was listed above Zaccheaus in the depth chart.
