India defeated Australia by six wickets in the series decider of the three match T20I series at the Rajiv Gandhi Internation Stadium, Hyderabad. India, despite losing vice captain KL Rahul and captain Rohit Sharma early, are still in the game, thanks to Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav partnership. He consistently scored fours and sixes, keeping the required run rate always below 10. However, Yadav was soon sent back to pavilion, after he ended up hitting the ball straight to Aaron Finch to give Josh Hazlewood his first wicket.

Kohli, who had previously taken on a supporting role, took on the role of the aggressor. . He soon reached to a 37-ball fifty, with India needing 32 runs in the last three overs. Cummins scored 11 runs, including four from Hardik, to reduce the equation to 21 off 12. With one delivery remaining, India completed the required score of 11 from 6 balls thanks to a six by Hardik Pandya in the following over. Hardik Pandya hit a coupl of boundaries in the next two overs to take India over the finishing line.
