Ray Lewis III, son of former Baltimore Ravens player Ray Lewis and Tatyana McCall, has died, TMZ Sports first reported. He was 28 years old.

Lewis III played at Lake Mary Prep High School in Florida. He played college football at Miami, Coastal Carolina, and Virginia Union. Most recently, the 28-year-old played for the Wyoming Mustangs of the Champions Indoor Football League. He was also pursuing a career in the music industry.

The details around Lewis III’s death have not been revealed yet.

Virginia Union Associate Head Coach Diego Ryland spoke about the player’s death to TMZ Sports, saying it’s “very unfortunate.”

“Great young man and a better teammate. The entire Virginia Union University community is praying for the family as they deal with the loss of Ray,” the coach added.

The Lake Mary Prep High School running back’s younger brother Rahsaan shared a message on social media. “Really can’t believe I’m even typing this but RIP big brother. A true angel I pray your at peace now because IK how much you was rlly hurtin. I don’t and won’t ever have the words man cuz this pain right here….I love you I love you I love you,” he said.

“Your niece gone miss you but she will hear about u over and over just watch over us all big bruh be our guardian I promise I’ll make you smile and proud.”

Ray Lewis has six children with four women. Tatyana McCall was Lewis III’s mother.

Who is Tatyana McCall?

McCall and Ray Lewis are no longer a couple. She met the former NFL player at the University of Miami. They co-parent three sons: Lewis III, Raydhad and Rahsaan.

She is a Sr Principal Public Relations officer with Northrop Grumman, as per McCall’s LinkedIn profile. “Experienced Management, Marketing and Communications Administrator with a demonstrated history of working in business, education, sports, nonprofit, public administration, and government industries. Skilled in Event Management, Community Relations, Outreach, Relationship Management, Public Speaking, Public Relations, and Business Instruction. Strong in business and education.
