India skipper Rohit Sharma on Friday became the leading run-scorer in men’s T20 Internationals, overtaking Martin Guptill of New Zealand. The 35-year-old achieved the the feat during the first T20I against West Indies at Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad.
Rohit Sharma, who needed 21 runs before the start of the game, looked in tremendous form as he scored his first T20I half century in nearly a year on Friday. In 129 matches, Sharma has scored 4 hundred and 26 half-centuries so far.

New Zealand opener Martin Guptill, on the other hand, has played 116 matches for New Zealand, has so far scored 3399 runs. This includes 2 hundred and 20 half-centuries. On Thursday, the 35-year-old scored 40 runs in 31 balls during the first match against Scotland to leave Rohit Sharma behind.
Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who is not the best form at the moment, is the third highest scorer in the shortest format. He has scored 3308 runs in 99 matches, with 30 fifties . He is, however, yet to score a century. The 33-year-old was rested for the ODI and the ongoing T20I series against West Indies.
