George Kittle, tight end of the San Francisco 49ers, walked into the Estadio Azteca Stadium in Mexico City wearing a Pentagon Jr’s mask replica. 49ers take on the Arizona Cardinals in this year’s NFL Mexico Game.

For his T-shirt as well, he opted to wear one which had the Mexican wrestler’s image printed on it.

Kittle is a huge wrestling fan. On the field, he also displays his wrestling fandom. His first down celebration against the Las Vegas Raiders is a nod to the Pentagon’s “Cero Miedo” finger gesture, which translates to “zero fear.”

“Two years ago in New Orleans, I went to WrestleMania and I saw him wrestle like six different times at a bunch of different shows,” said Kittle in an interview. 

Kittle and Pentagon became friends after the 2018 WrestleMania weekend in New Orleans. Pentagon received a Niners jersey, while Kittle received a luchador mask.

Who is Pentagon Jr?

Pentagón Jr. is a Mexican masked professional wrestler who competes for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) as Penta El Zero Miedo (“Penta Zero-Fear”). With his Death Triangle stablemates Pac and his real-life younger brother, Rey Fénix, he currently holds one-third of the AEW World Trios Championship.

He is also well-known for his work with Impact Wrestling, where he has held the titles of Impact World Champion and Impact World Tag Team Champion.

George Kittle and San Francisco 49ers’ performance in 2022:

Kittle has participated in seven of his team’s matches had recorded a combined 29 receptions for 340 yards and two touchdowns.

The 49ers held opponents to 82.7 yards per carry entering Week 11. With a pressure rate of 25.2%, San Francisco’s pass rush ranks fifth in the league, and they have allowed only 280 yards per game this season. They are tied for seventh in the league with 29 sacks.

The 49ers have a 5-4 record and are placed second in the NFC West division.
