Miami Dolphins took on the Green Bay Packers at the Hard Rock Stadium on Christmas Day, Sunday. Several social media users posted videos of snowfall near the stadium. 

As per weatherspark, Miami, experiences hot summers and is wet and cloudy during monsoons. The winters in Florida are short and humid. The temperature typically varies from 62°F to 90°F. Snowfall is rare. 

However, the current temperature in Miami is 46 degrees Fahrenheit or 8 degrees Celcius. 

“This can’t be real lmaooo 70% snow in Miami yuh right 💀” a Twitter user said. 

“Finally! Snow in Miami! I knew it would happen soon. Global cooling, baby!” a second one tweeted.

Many parts of the United States are currently suffering from extreme cold weathers courtesy of the Winter Storm Elliot. Around 1,350 flights have been cancelled across the country on the Christmas Day morning.

The Christmas Eve games in the NFL were played in freezing conditions. The match between Pittsburgh Steelers and Las Vegas Raiders saw the temperature dropping to 10 degrees Fahrenheint.

Around 24 people across the United States are reported to have died from the cold.

The scope of the storm has been nearly unprecedented, stretching from the Great Lakes near Canada to the Rio Grande along the border with Mexico. About 60% of the U.S. population faced some sort of winter weather advisory or warning, and temperatures plummeted drastically below normal from east of the Rocky Mountains to the Appalachians, the National Weather Service said.

Forecasters said a bomb cyclone — when atmospheric pressure drops very quickly in a strong storm — had developed near the Great Lakes, stirring up blizzard conditions, including heavy winds and snow.
