Australian cricketer and ex-captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) David Warner will not be playing for SRH on Sunday in the match against Rajasthan Royals (RR). Earlier this week, Kane Williamson had replaced Warner as the captain of the IPL side.

Under Warner’s stint, SRH this season have lost five games in the first six, and were at the bottom of the table. Warner also struggled with his individual form as he scored 193 runs in six games at a strike rate of 110.28, which is significantly less than his overall strike rate of 140.13.

Warner has a successful overall captaincy record, having led SRH to their maiden IPL title in 2016, and in the previous season, he led them to the third spot. He also has scored 5,447 runs in 148 matches in IPL at an impressive average of 42.22 and also has the record of winning the orange cap for the most number of times.

Williamson on the other hand captained SRH in Warner’s absence in 2019 and led them to the fourth place.
