Rohit Sharma scored 53 runs in 39 balls in India’s second match of the T20 world cup 2022. Netherlands’ Fred Klaassen dismissed the Indian skipper in the 12th over of their first T20I against India. Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli are attempting to accelerate India’s innings after the team lost KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma. India opted to bat first against the Netherlands in Super 12 Group 2 match on October 27 at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Notably, Netherlands’ Tim Pringle dropped Rohit Sharma in the fifth over of the match. The Indian opener was at 13 in 14 balls. Fred Klaassen bowled short of length, and Rohit instinctively went for the pull; he miscued it over mid-on, and Pringle ran back, arrived in time, and went with both hands, but the ball did not stick.

Rohit was given out LBW in eighth over

Further, in the eighth over, Sharma survived again. Rohit was given out LBW and he immediately challenged the decision. There was a bit of bat or glove as in the replay, the UltraEdge showed a spike before the ball hit the pad. It was another poor decision, and this time it was by umpire Michael Gough.

First, Rahul was given LBW. However, the ball-tracker showed the ball was not hitting the stumps and ball-tracking confirmed that. It was missing leg-stump and umpire Ahsan Raza got it wrong, but Rahul had the chance to review, but he himself refused.

This is the first T20 International game between India and the Netherlands. The game against the Netherlands may appear easy for the star-studded Indian team, but the former champions will not underestimate the Dutch and will try to secure two significant points while maintaining a positive net run rate. The Netherlands, on the other hand, defeated the UAE and Namibia to advance to the Super 12. Bangladesh, however, defeated the Dutch by nine runs on October 24.
