Miller, after helping the Los Angeles Rams win the Super Bowl last year, got  a six-year, $120 million deal with the Buffalo Bills. He had recorded four sacks, six tackles, six QB hits, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery in four postseason games in the2021/22 season.

On Thursday night, at the SoFi Stadium, Miller was at the center of most of the action when he pressed his former side’s offense. The 33-year-old sacked former teammate Matthew Stafford for an 8-yard loss. His effort pushed the Rams back into their own territory and forced a third-and-14.

Von Miller was sporting a new haircut. He shaved a triangle at the back of his head. He influenced the game immediately. He took the field after Rams’ touchdown drive. Los Angeles were moving the ball quick. However, the linebacker made sure to put a stop to it.

One play after getting blocked well by Joe Noteboom, Miller used his power to push the left tackle into the Rams backfield. That’s all Miller needed to get his hand on Stafford.

Von Miller was a mentor to star defensive tackle Aaron Donald during the playoffs.

“If anything, we had conversations more about leadership, me being more of a vocal guy. I give a lot of credit, just obviously, in that playoff run having those conversations with Von — I feel like he challenged me with some things as a vocal leader and I took that to heart and I stepped up when we needed [me] to. So I always will respect and love Von for that,”  Donald said in his press conference.

“We created some special things. We miss him, but he’s on the opposite side now, so, you know, he’s the enemy.”

Donald added that he hasn’t spoken with Miller yet as the teams prepare to play on Thursday.
