Tom Kim falls into mud mid-round at PGA Championship in Oak Hill Country Club, New York: Watch video

Two-time Tour winner Kim was amid searching for his ball on the seventh hole (his 16th of the day) at Oak Hill as went down the muddy marsh, covering himself in dirt.

Kim confirmed in an interview after his round he was indeed looking for a ball when things went south. “As soon as I went in, it was kind of sketch,” Kim said while speaking to ESPN. “Once my foot got in there, there was no looking back,” he added.

The “mud bath” actually worked out pretty well for the South Korean as he got most of the mud off of him, or as much as he could, though he finished the rest of the round with his pants rolled up. Furthermore, he also saved his bogey on the hole. Kim finished his round with a 3-over 73, and was well behind leader Eric Cole at 5-under.

The whole incident sparked some hilarious reactions from the internet.

Meanwhile, Cole took over the first place at the PGA Championship after a birdie on the 4th put him at 5-under-par, his third birdie in a row, to separate him from Dustin Johnson, Adam Scott and Bryson DeChambeau, who was the sole leader for much of the day.
