After transferring to Illinois, DeVito became the Fighting Illini’s starting quarterback. He had a notable game against Wisconsin with three rushing touchdowns. In the 2022 season, he passed for 2,650 yards, 15 touchdowns, and four interceptions, with six rushing touchdowns.

DeVito’s NFL journey began when he was signed by the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent in April 2023, shortly after the conclusion of the 2023 NFL Draft. While he was waived on August 29, 2023, he was re-signed to the practice squad.
