Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill participated in his first track meet in nine years. Hill showed off his transcendent speed, winning the 60-meter sprint at the USA Track and Field Masters Indoor Championships in Louisville, Kentucky.

He donned a speed suit from his alma mater, Coffee High School, and won the race easily in 6.7 seconds. Hill is believed to be the fastest player in the NFL.

Hill beat runner-up Dainen Brass by just over half a second as he recorded a time of 6.70 in the short-distance race. He competed in the 25-29 age group in his first race since 2014.

Nicknamed Cheetah, the four-time All-Pro was a track star in high school and won two state championships. in 2012, he was named an All-American by USA Today.

After running track at the community college level for a short period in 2014, he gave it up to focus on football full-time. This seemed to be simply a one-off event for Hill, who tweeted afterward, “Never racing again had me out there looking wild.”

His time of 6.7 seconds is four-tenths of a second off the world record mark of 6.34 seconds set by Christian Coleman in 2018.

He was dismissed from Oklahoma State nine years ago following a domestic assault arrest. He pleaded guilty to domestic assault and battery by strangulation in 2015 and was sentenced to three years of probation.

After six seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, Hill broke the franchise records for receptions (119) and receiving yards (1710) in his first season with the Dolphins in 2022.

He participated in the World Junior Championships in 2012 in Barcelona, where he was a member of the United States gold medal-winning 4×100 meter relay team. He also bagged an individual bronze in the 200-meter race.
