AB de Villiers on Monday in Sharjah scored 73 runs off 33 balls, helping the Royal Challengers Bangalore register a thrilling win over Kolkata Knight Riders by 82 runs. But the RCB batsman made people raise their eyebrows after 2 out of his 6 sixes went out of the stadium, with one even hitting a moving car. How’s that for power and timing?

Kohli and Villiers stitched together an unbeaten century partnership, as the RCB captain, who scored 33 runs off 28 balls, praised AB de Villiers’ “super-human” effort after the South African batsman’s match-winning knock.

After Villiers’ sixes, here’s how Twitter reacted:

Bangalore posted 194 for two, a total their bowlers defended by keeping down Kolkata to 112 for nine in 20 overs. Villiers in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders went past 3000 runs in the Twenty20 tournament.

Praising Villiers, Kohli during post-match presentation said, “Barring one superhuman, everyone struggled on that pitch.”

Kohli said the team got more than expected runs only because of the “special knock” of one man.

“It was a special knock. We got 195 (194 actually) purely because of the genius of that man,” the Indian team captain said.
